Substrate for a JD tank

I was just wondering what kind of substrate to use for a JD tank? Sand or gravel?

Either one should be ok .I have gravel in my tanks.But you can also go bare bottom

What are the pros and cons of going bare bottom? I saw a pic of a bare bottom tank and was kinda wandering about it.

I hate barebottom, I think it looks really bare and clinical... But each to their own I guess!



I'd go a dark gravel! Dark will make him feel comfortable and bring his colours out!

Yeah, i didn't really like the look of the bare bottom but i was just wandering if it had any benefits to it. I like black bottoms maybe with a lil light color sprinkled in.
