can anyone pls show me pics of good substrate for rays. the substrate that can make it relax on and remove the redish part of its surface. thx.

Estes Medium Broadcast. Find it at any wholesale paint supply store.

substrate needs to be rounded and very smooth. sand, barebottom or very samll round peagravel are best.

if it looks rough or sharp stay well away from it. some ppl also advise to stay away from silica sand, i dont remember why but i was told why not to use it before but i forget now.

the ventral side of a young ray is pinkish/red..usually..

however, if the ray has ammonia burn then that's a different story..

-smooth sand
-round pebbles
-bare bottom

will prevent the rays disc from becoming irritated.
