I am currently building a 4' x 8' aquarium. anyone know of which sand is safe to use ? it moved all the gravel out of the corner of the indoor pond it is in now so i dont want to put gravel in the new build. thanks

In my opinion I wouldnt even use a substrate lol with bigger cats it's way Easyer to clean bare bottom aquariums then to mess around with sand. For example when I had sand with my RTC and It was time to clean the bottom up the sand and waste would mix up and you would pic up more sand then you did waste in it just aggrivated me cause when I was done half of the waste was still on the bottom. But that's just my opinion :)

If you decide to use sand send me a pm. I'm a self proclaimed expert in sand for FW and SW aquariums lol. but really i know a decent amount, id recommend a nice big grain Pool filter sand. its most sand and cleans up the best. If you get a sand thats too light not only is it a pain in the ass but it will ruin filters and get sucked up all the time.

i usually give my larger aquariums a month just so that it breaks in pretty good :)

thanks. will post pics when a buddy comes over. I'm computer illiterate :screwy:LOL . water going in on sunday. hope epoxy holds. will keep updated.
