what up all? ideas i need on some substrate...i seen ppl doing new things as far a covering the bottom of the tank. trying to see which is preferred and why...i seen no bottom, bare bottom(), tiles, wrapping black fabric, sand..etc.

i considering these and if any 1 got picks, cool..

SAND! It's natural and looks great with everything. oh and if you wanna throw in flounder/rays :)

what i did was buy the play sand from lowes and cleaned it reallllllly good... i just put it in a bucket and kept the hose flowing in it. its only 3 dollars and its almost white.. just put your filters pretty low with a good circulation. the circulation should kick the poop up and keep the sand down. the filter will clean it when its kicked up. should keep your tank clean

i agree, i got sand in my tanks right now. don't rays need special sand so they don't get scratched? basically i want to see other options like tiles. and the cloth ones.

still looking.. no one here got some unique bottom? tiles, bare bottoms, or cloth?? looking for pros and cons.

I had this. It was for a frog tank. I got bored and didn't want just rocks so did this. Only crappy thing was debris got underneath it. A simple gravel vac once a week was mandatory that's all.

Unfortunately the only pics I could find of the frog tank.

Random BB tank I found for the tadpoles. I had BB fish tanks though, looked like crap though.

yes i'm thinking tile because it's hard to take the sand back out. also i've seen the bottom full black on some ppls tanks, looking for those.
