Substrate Option ?

What different options are their for a substrate? There's sand, gravel, rocks, but what else? I read somewhere the different types like silica sand I believe...

crushed coral, agronite (sp?), i have fine crushed black rock, almost like sand. are you wanting fresh or salt?

fresh, my bad. I forgot about aragonite, that's what my friend has.

Right now I've got a gar and a pike, maybe a wolffish. I don't know yet. The tank is coming on Tuesday...

pool suppler is your best option. pool filter sand is easier to clean compared to play sand. and cheaper to boot.

True..... Definitely stay away from play sand. It's a mess. But they do sell pool filter sand at HD and Lowes (normally in the garden center).
