I'm doing a live plant aquarium for a leopard sailfin and some cherry barbs, based on your experiences what would you recommend as the BEST substrate for the job? It's a 50 gallon, 36x18x18 and it's until he's big enough for a grand old 75+ home 
A friend said "live rock" but he may have meant "activ flora" I've only had plastic plants before and just pet store gravel. I think he deserves something a little nicer this time. Thoughts?
