SUBSTRATE questions

what kind of substrate or sand do yall recommend for my 125 gallon that will be housing a clown knife, some peacock bass, couple of cats, and a tiger red...id like to have something black or black mixed at least...and how thick should it be placed on the bottom? any other suggestions would be appreciated...

you could go with the sand idea or gravel...either way would be cool

anybody use this type sand, ECO-COMPLETE AFRICAN CICHLID SAND, i like the way it looks but will it be safe for my catfish, clown knife and peacock bass?

or basically any type of black n white sand...i may just go black sand though...

OK, MAYBE,haha, ill just get a couple bags of caribsea white sand and couple bags of caribsea black and MIX them and not worry about that raisin my pH like the african-cichlid mix would....comments?
