Ok fellow mfk members I need help and opinions, given my stocking list in my profile should I go bare bottom?? Will it help with aggression?? I have a Cichlid mix which is good for ph, etc and I kind of don't want to get rid of it. I have noticed some of you guys go bare bottom and I wonder why?? I know I know I need a bigger tank, I'm working on it.

I'm also worried about fish getting beat up because of it and the fish keep swallowing it too. But I just can't fully commit to it. I also refuse to landscape it, not enough room and backgrounds are not for me, been there done that.

Go with sand it harbors the most beneficial bacteria to break down waste and fish seem to prefer it as well. It also is easier to clean all you have to do is put your gravel vac over the waste and suck it up.

What the post about. Go bare bottom.

It's obviously less natural

i think the main reason some go bare bottom is to be able to clean the s@#$ real easy.
