I have my Fahaka in a tank with no substrate in it. Is this ok? I wanted to be sure that I can grab any feces that contains worms and I was having a bit of trouble doing that with gravel and I'd assume I'd have similar troubles with sand. I still have weighted plants and a few caves to hide in to keep him secure. This should be ok for now right!

Yes it is perfectly fine matter of fact great thinking because it would be almost impossible to retrieve the infected feces.

Btw it would be a different situation if you had to retrieve existing gravel or sand due to them already be established with bacteria then you would have to worry about your parameters.

This is his tank it's a 55 gallon...I am working on a new filtration system, I ordered it online so it's taking it a minuet to get here. He's doing ok, but any tank set up pointers?
