Assuming I get the leak fixed in my new 125g tank, I'm going to be setting it up in the next couple of weeks. I'm trying to figure out the best substrate to use. Ive seen a couple of posts about the 3M T and S grade black sand, and I like the looks of it. What else do people use, what are your favorites? I would definitely like something that doesn't stick to my rays like the play sand does, and I want something black or very dark to help them stand out against it.

I prefer estes fine coated gravel. Rays dig in it the same as sand and I don't have to worry about my acrylic tank getting scratches during maintenance.

depending on the ray pool filter sand

As of now its just a pair of reticulated stingrays. Ill have to look into the pool filter sand, if it comes in black, and the estes sand as well.

bare bottom for me....

personally i go with bare bottom tanks.. it i had to, i'd use Europet Fine River Sand... beautiful stuff.. but expensive..
