Has anyone had any success with algae eaters in subtropical tank? Im hesitant to put small fish in with my adult aurantimaculata.
Since the tank has been moved, I've had trouble with algae. I use silk plants instead of real plants, i never manage to keep them alive!

the problem isn't exactly sub tropical temps but a hungry dude without
preferences when it comes to live food

Smaller fish would just be eaten, ive seen small algae eaters, but no larger ones that fit his temperature range, so far. Has anyone kept snails successfully with snakeheads?

Only fish you'll keep with an auranti is a fish too small to be considered effort worthy.
Just like you can keep neon tetras with a 60 cm wolf fish and only notice one of two disappearing every month.
Not saying your aurantis won't snack on autocinclus for example, but if it's big enough it might ignore them.
