Successes and/or Failures with fish in oddly shaped tanks

I'm about to set up a 60gal hex and am unsure as to what I will keep in it. Anyone have any successes due to or in spite of an oddly shaped tank? Failures due to or in spite of an oddly shaped tank? Pics?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as the fish have room to swim... Would probably do well with tall fish as opposed to long fish.

I've seen discus and angels in hex tanks a lot. Not exactly monsters, but they seemed to do well.
