I have been working some crazy hours lately, I just picked up a ray 2 weeks ago. I made sure my water conditions were just perfect prior to putting in my ray, but yesterday my baby died. With the stress of work and now loosing my ray I am on the verge of packing in my tanks. My wife is trying to talk me out of it which is suprizing seeing she is trying to talk me out of getting the fish lol. I am feeling pretty crappy right about now.

That sucks bro ... sorry for your loss :(

If I were you, I'd hang onto my fish until everything else had stableized (sp) and make the decision then ...

I hope it turns out alright! :)

ouch i'm very sorry for your loss. I went through the exact same thing this summer. But don't give up. Fish death happens to even the best of fish keepers. I took a week or two out, where i drained my tank and got my business handled. Then concentrated on the fish. Good luck, and don't give up.

what type of rays were they? I had so many problems with retics that they are not worth it because their survival depends on a large part how they were imported and kept prior to being sold to you. Some of them either dont eat for a long time or just curl suddenly. They are also picky eaters.

Motoros on the other hand are much hardier

Sorry for your loss. Don't give up though. Everyone loses a fish every now and then, it's part of the hobby. Sometimes you know why and sometimes you don't. Keep your head up and keep trying.

Unfortunitly it was a motoro, he was a little thin but seemed alright for the most part. He was eating and everything, my wife even saw him swiming around the tank before I found him belly up. I love my fish I more then likely will keep going with them but just take it a bit easy for the moment till i can really give the added attention for a new ray.
