I have a 30 gallon growout tank for 6 brilliant rasbora's and 1 red swordtail. I am looking for a sucker fish to clean up there waste. Any ideas for a 30 gallon? thanks
The rare and beautiful "Syphon" fish... no fish will do what you are looking for.. even "waste eaters" will produce waste themselves. I would suggest a small group 3-5 of cory cats to help clean up any extra food in the tank. and maybe a clown pleco to help with algae... but neither are really "Neccisary" the best way to get rid of waste in your tank is to properly maintain your filtration system ( imo you should always be running 8-10 times turn-over rate on a tank.. so for a 30 gallon tank.. a filter that is rated between 250-300gph would be ideal.) regularly syphoning your gravel and doing 25% + water changes at least 1x weekly will do better for your fish then any "waste eater" out there.
