Suction cup failures on Eheim filter intake-tubes driving me nuts

After 3 months all my suction cups on my filter intake tubes are failing.

I knew this would eventually happen, perhaps because I have such hard water.

Is there anyway to fix them? I checked out Eheim's site and a set of replacements (2-cups/plastic/tube/holders) are priced anywhere between $5-$7 bux, c'mon are they kidding me?

I need 12 of them, I can't spend $36-$45 on suction cups, every 3 months, thats just crazy!

I cleaned em, boiled em for about 3-mins.

There were nice and soft after boiling, kinda pressed em back in shape while still hot/soft, then dropped them into cold water, to sorta set the plastic.

Seem to be holding better now thanks for the tip.

I saw those from ZooMED I may look into them. It's a pain in the *ss for me to change these suction cups, 4 on each pipe 12 cups total, and my tank is tall, which makes it a pain.

I wonder if those cups have some sort of felt or something on the magnet part that goes on the OUTSIDE of the tank, and being my tank is only inches from the back wall I wonder how hard it would be to get those magnet ones setup.

Guess there strong and would only require 2 per intake pipe, vers 4.
