Suction grips for acrylic tank?

Can you use regular suction grips (as in the kind made for picking up and moving glass) on acrylic tanks? I need to take my 220g tank off its stand to work on it, and it would be a lot easier with suction grips.

I just want to make sure it won't damage the acrylic in any way.

I dont see any reason why you couldn't. They are designed for about anything with a smooth surface (glass, furniture, appliances). They do work great on glass and are cheap to get at Harbor Freight. I have 2 of the dual cup style.

You shouldn't have any problem using them on an acrylic tank at all unless we are talking about one of them wave front tanks, then your better off placing them on the flat surfaces.
