On my 10 gal which I've had up & running for almost 2 years has had a horrible outbreak of fungus & hairy green algea. I think its like moss or algea or some fuzzy plant. Here's a pic. How to DESTROY fungus? Anyone? Pics are of infected areas tank is not all infected. As you can see in some pictures its spreading.
PS none of these pictures show any fungus but its there and its NOT OVERFEEDING YOU CAN RULE THAT ONE OUT. Not lighting either bulbs probably 8 months old & fluorescent meaning its almost fully degraded.

Looks like the start of hair algae imo...

As for lighting, how many hours is it on normally? I know you said dont count it, but you never mentioned how long you leave them on for?

Other things to check would be phosphate levels... Normally its from overfeeding, but in your case maybe the tap water is high in phosphates to start with?

Its 8 hours of light. I don't want to change it though because the lighting is set for all 3 of my tanks under 1 automatic light switch.
Is there anything i can do to DESTROY it?

If you don't have plants, leave the lights off for a while...

For a quick fix your gonna have to get your hands dirty...

You should change out that gravel anyway... Try some sand..;)
