on an icecube.....
ive had three baby tems growing in a 30g with a bichir and silver aro, until i could move them to my bigger tank, they were doing realy well then yesterday one was dead and now today another is:(, the tank is filtered by an ac500 and the temp is around 87 i think, ive been feeding them prawn, my PH is 7.8-8 i did do a large WC the other day but i awlay do large WCs on the tank? anyone have any idea why they would just roll over die all of a sudden?

What are your other water parameters? Pbass can be very delicate when they are small.

ammonia? nitrite? maybe something in your source water? what do the fish look like? no signs of distress before hand?

iam not too sure of the other water params, they have been in the tank for afew months now, and all other fish are fine, the first one died well after i did a WC, then i did a large one because it died yesterday then today another dead, last night when the lights were off it seemed to be swimming strange bumping into the pots in the tank, but i thought it was just that i scared it or something and it was freaking out, today the last one is begging for food and seems healthy?

Running a small tank at 87 degrees with a ph of 8 leaves very little room for any kind of issue. Lack of oxygen and a high ph and mix in even a little bit of ammonia from faltering filtration will lead to death.

i think your WC are a huge cause to this problem i only run 20% max because your Aquarium creates bacteria that can be just as helpful as high ammonia and nitrate/trates can be bad.

possibly by lack of good bacteria that was cycling already.. and then doing such a big water change in a small tank removes it... i have a question for ya... when you do water changes you change all the filters/media also??

ive had this happen to me a few times before.
and my tank has been running for 2 years now.
and my water paremeters were always fine.
