sufficient for reef?

hi just shoppin around for lights would this be good for a 2 foot reef tank ?? is ther a cheaper one anyone knows of? thanks for ya help in advance

for a shallow low light reef yes it would be good.

i would recomend a T5HO fixture instead... those lights are not that intence and you can find retro kits and fixtures for cheap.... it will also be better for your corals etc,... and give you more stacking options

ok my tank is about 26 cm deep and the anemone would be sitting on top of my live rock so it would only be around 6-9 cm off the light would this be good and what woud i need to supplement for the anemone?

That light wont be sufficient for an Anemone in my opinion. If that is what you want, then get a T5 with individual reflectors or a halide lighting unit...

get this system and save your self the trouble lol. T-5HO's are a great light fixture for keeping the temp of the tank water low. Halides are notorious for causing heating issues, hence the need for a chiller. It sounds as your trying to save money and halides are not the way.

This unit (i believe you said a 24 inch long tank) would be sufficient for a anemone:

Its for sure not the best unit out there, but for the performance ratings as far as PAR, its a decent fixture for what your trying to do.

Only downside that i hate about this light is they have not integrated individual reflectors for this model.

also keep in mind that most anemones will move around until comfortable.
