i would recomend a T5HO fixture instead... those lights are not that intence and you can find retro kits and fixtures for cheap.... it will also be better for your corals etc,... and give you more stacking options
 
get this system and save your self the trouble lol. T-5HO's are a great light fixture for keeping the temp of the tank water low. Halides are notorious for causing heating issues, hence the need for a chiller. It sounds as your trying to save money and halides are not the way.

This unit (i believe you said a 24 inch long tank) would be sufficient for a anemone:

Its for sure not the best unit out there, but for the performance ratings as far as PAR, its a decent fixture for what your trying to do.

Only downside that i hate about this light is they have not integrated individual reflectors for this model.

also keep in mind that most anemones will move around until comfortable.
 
i bought a 24'' bual bulb hagen GLO T5 with 2 bulbs for $80 at petsmart... they are starting to get cheaper now...
