Im picking up a male and female ( brother and sister ) who are 6 months old from a lady who has to move and cant take them with her. i've done research on them, but is there anything i should exspect? and do any of you own sugar gliders? if so how are they as a pet?

good luck man, just make sure you socialize them properly. If bored and ignored I think they can get pretty mean, but they supposedly bond strongly with their owners if handled regularly.

they freak me out.

prepare for cuddles of the third magnitude, and possible clingyness

I also think that you should trade one of them by another of the same sex because they need company but because they are brother and sister its best to avoid any breeding activitys;)

I have two girls. <3
get the male neutered if you havnt. it will cut down on smell and aggression a whole lot not to mention inbreeding. also go to this site and they will have everything you need to know. PM me if you have ANY questions. they are a responsibility that doesnt need to be taken lightly.
Good luck and thanks for doing your research!

they are great pets but they have to get use to you and you must gain their trust and respect. expect them to be terrified of you for the first week or more and they can and WILL bite, they have huge teeth for their size. I would suggest leaving them alone for the first day or two unless they are just super sweet. they will make a noise like a car engine turning over when they are scared (called crabbing) get use to it, you will be hearing it ALOT for the first few days, most likely. They need a good diet consisting of fruits, veggies, and a staple food. they like meal worms as treats too. PM for detales. they will mark their territory (you) by peeing and pooping on you, get use to it. dont force them to be with you at first, they will learn to accept you. there is lots more stuff but i cant tell you everything right now. Anyway good luck and like i said pm me if you need ANYTHING!!!

i would not keep brother and sister together not a great idea
also get your self a bonding pouch to help when you take it out of the cage
also get a old shirt and where it all day and then put it in the cage it will help them get use to your sent and you could also get a hoodie and where it only when you handle them that will give them some confert and allow a pocket for them to go to if they get spoked

also seed is a treat only give it to them 1-2 times a month give more fresh fruit and worms i hope this helps

yea this is pretty much what i learned from researching, its good to be told the same thing from many people. Thanks everyone, I'll probably only get the female.

please dont split them up. they are social creatures and unless you can spend almost all day every day with the little girl then you need to get both. in the wild they live in colonies of around 15 individuals! and if they are lonely then they are very prone to to self mutilate and that is very bad :(
what size and type of cage are you getting for them?

i agree w/ everything except the first part. it will be just fine to keep them together as long as the male is fixed :) but if he is not fixed then it is not a good idea at all
