Sugestions on species for 55 gal

Hi, I currently have a 55 gal fish tank with only a pleco and a red tail black shark. I need any suggestions i can get, my red tail is very aggressive against any of my other fish in my upstairs tank that's why he is down here, but I can get rid of him if need be.

Um if ur interested in cichlids then maybe a black calvus which is a really cool one or maybe firemouths. Depends on what u want/like.

firemouths, convicts, maybe a severum, congo tetra's, neon tetra's, there really are a ton of options, what kind of fish do you like in particular?

Go with an African themed tank Congo Tetras, ABK, Ctenopoma, Sunodontis Cat,African Butterfly, etc

If you are moving in the direction of cichlids and want several then I would stick with smaller ones. Jack Dempsey, Salvini, Convicts. If you want something larger I would try and get a mating pair.

The african theme would be cool, though you would need to get rid of the red tail and the pleco.
