Hey guys! I've got a 4x2x2 100g that i am going to stock with 1 indo-pacific tarpon, 1 marble achara catfish, 3 temensis pbass, and 1 gar or arowana. I will be upgrading to a 500g plywood tank and I would like you to suggest a pike for me. I was looking at the orange pike (xingu I) but they sound a little out of my price range. So I'm looking for a pike that is big but not really aggressive. Rather a more preditory pike. Thanks

i think any lugubris group pike would work well.
joahanna
venezuelan
marmorata
xingu 1
lenticulata

just to name a few.

I agree lugubris should be fine.

Esox americanus grows to ma maximum length of 40 cms.
A beautiful predatory fish.

talking about crenicichla here.

I'd say venezuela, which are cheap and hardy, and defnitely large

ummm its hit and miss. each individual species is not to different its just the individual fish itself. but none are push overs. some are more bullies than others, i mean individual fish, not a species. understand?

I'd say venezuelan. They're available, inexpensive, get big, and are predatory but not (at least in my experience) overly aggressive. My female could be the boss of the tank if she wanted to be, but generally gets along with everyone. She defends her favorite spot in the tank, but doesn't harass any other fish.

I've got her with:
Florida gar
Shortnose gar
Spotted gar
Channel catfish
P. freidrichstalli
Climbing Perch
Bluegill
Indo Datnoid
P. clarkii (crayfish)
