hello again my fellow fishy friends. i have a question for anybody who wishes to answer. i'm still contiplating what kind of fish to get. i'm thinking of fresh tropical fish that would not grow bigger than 5-6 inches(12.5cm-15cm).also with your suggestions other fish and plants that would co-inside with the suggested fish. thanx everybody!! your truly, doggin'

I just answered in your other thread but I'll say it here too:
hey doggin' glad to see you back!
What aquarium are you planning on these fish in and what would you like to see from the fish?
Colorful/agressive/peaceful?
Let us know what you would like to have an we can point you in the right direction.
Just for a smaller fish some dwarf pikes would be cool. But im also a lover of planted community tanks.

I have a spotted ctenopoma, a nice 6 in. predator. Gouramis are always nice and colorful while looking nice in planted tanks. There are numerous cichlids such as firemouths that stay under 6 inches.

Ctempoma are sweet but grow really slow but a good suggestion

LOL can't spell Ctenopoma (oops)

Do some dwarf cichlids (apistos, rams) and plant it up with swords and vals and put some cool driftwood in there! You could put some cory cats in there, too.

OR you could do Mbuna, with a rock wall, sand substrate, cool rocks scattered about and different ferns tucked into the rock work.

good call. Ive done both and love both:)

I would go for an african biotope, get alot of various anubias sp., a bunch of driftwood, the ctenopomas and a group of congo tetras for schooling fish. Then throw in a synodontis cat and you got a real nice setup. :)
