I've looked at multiple overflow setups for quieter sump designs, but nothing seems like it will work for my setup. If you look at the picture you can see how it was drilled in almost the middle of the back. It was drilled like this when I bought it, and I don't want to drill my tank. It's super loud and after 2 years, it's getting old. I am running dual quiet one 2200s, so I know I'm pushing it for a 1" drain. I also have a canister filter as a secondary filter. My only thought is to go to an FX6 to get rid of the siphon noise in my living room. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Yes get an end cap and drill some tiny holes in there and attach the end cap and see if that helps.

The king of diy has a lot on overflow setups and he has methods to quiet it down. Follow him on YouTube just search king of diy

Put your end cap, drill and TAP that hole, put in a needle valve--that lets you dial in the amount of air let into the drain for max silence. That's how they do it on Durso's--single drain type overflow.

I saw a guy on YouTube get one running dead silent like that.

thank you, I will try the single durso setup and see if that helps.
