Tank measure 20×18×20. 32 or 33 gallons I believe.
Looking for colorful pair for breeding, personality is a must. No convicts as I've got that already. Thanks in advance guys.

edit: i thought this was posted in the "general forum" id look into some south american dwarfs. I've been doing some googling on them lately and there is some really cool fish out there.

Apisto's are pretty cool.. or you could do a planted shrimp tank

I like the idea mentioned by flukekiller with apistos but I would tweak it a little by skipping the shrimp as they can become snacks most often than not to an apisto. There's a ton of color variations and they have personality. I'm not too sure how easy it is to breed ram cichlids but they are also an option. I like keyholes as well but you'd be working with minimum requirements and most often then not a group is necessary for determining a breeding pair.

i didnt mean a shrimp and apisto tank,, one or the other

Apistos are great. Also, west African dwarfs like pelvicachromis taeniatus and various nanochromis species make great inhabitants for that tank. I have that exact size tank and I kept nanochromis transvestitus for a while. Now I have a pair of taeniacara candidi. Also you might check out checkerboard cichlids, rams, and laetacara. All the fish mentioned go well in planted tanks and are suited for a community setting which makes aquascaping and planning really fun and interesting.

Apisto's, Bolivian or German Blu Rams, or Cryptoheros (Panamensis are the most colorful IMO).
