I'm a clueless noob when it comes to monster fish, so I would like lots of suggestions about what monster fishies I should keep. I'm in Sydney, Australia, so I am also limited by what our quarantine and environmental protection laws would allow.

The habitat I'm building is a 6000 gallon tank with a filtration system that turns over the tank volume 2.5 times every hour. The water temperature will stay at 75 to 77 degrees F. My source water has a pH of 7.5 and a KH and GH of 2 to 3 dH.

From the research that I've been doing on this forum, I've found that I quite like the "personalities" and the "look" of the Australian Lungfish, the Fire Eel, and the Clown Knife. Can I keep these species together in my tank? If so, how many individuals of each of these species do you think I can keep? I'm thinking of "filling out" the rest of the tank with Oscars to add more color and movement. Are there any other "monster fish" which you can recommend for this set-up? Also, I would really prefer it if none of my fishies attack or stress-out any of their tankmates. And, seeing that I'm just starting out with "monsters", I'd like to stay away from things with spikes and poison as well.

Thanks!

I would say that you certainly can put those fish in a tank together. I would only worry about the fire eel getting eaten by something (clown knife maybe?) but it should probably be fine.

With a 6000 gallon tank... My recommendation is this: put whatever fish that catches your fancy in there! :) Just avoid super aggressive killer fish, or fish that are small enough to get eaten, unless you are willing to risk them getting eaten

First read for a min of 50 hours on this thread. 6000 gallons is not for. Noob I would suggest starting with something smaller if you have not done so already. Water flow needs to be more forsure spend time reading about setups and get some real plans together.

What's the footprint? Some fish are territorial so I think area matters more than depth.
