Suggestions for a 12g low maintaince setup

I got a 12g tank spare tank laying around and was wondering what would be a cool and unique to put in my tank. Tank size is about 24x12x12. I was thinking of a musk turtle tank but don't know what else would be cool for this tank. Please post some suggestion what I could put in a 12g that is low maintainance.

Id put shrimp in and let them do their thing. When crowded, feed them to other fish

Some might say that 12g is too small, but I have a german blue ram pair in a well planted 12g, and they are happy, breeding hand feeding etc.
