Suggestions for a 55 gal

I am considering getting a 55 gal, what are some good options for stocking it? I don't want to spend a crazy amount, so nothing overly expensive please.

Well it depends on what is overly priced. A black calvus is a cool cichlid and it can stay in the 55 for life basically but they can range anywhere from 50-100.

bichir. a flawless fish. If you want a interesting, never gets boring, exotic, beautiful, and awesome fish, definitley get it!! Get the senegal, palmas, albino or delhezi kind. you'll never regrete it!

I agree with lix.ma 14, bichirs are awesome, besides that they are also ancient looking. another possible species might be the elephantnose fish

An African biotiope, with bichirs, and African butterfly fish. Etc ...

Get a tropical dwarf snakehead. Like Channa Bankanensis or Channa Punctata.
