Suggestions for a DIY pump

I currently have a 75g with a common pleco, Red devil and 2 Polypterus senegalus, has anyone built a pump for this kind of set up? I currently have 2 internal pumps for 45g each, I was thinking i could do a little better with something custom. any suggestions, links to builds you think would be similar would be greatly appeciated

do you u want to build a pump or a sump?
i dont think i ever seen a thread about building a pump

That is a good point, I guess my terms were wrong i think id be looking more at a sump. seems to be the way to go

well buy an HOB overflow and build a sump out of a bucket and a steralite container. search DIY sump on youtube theres a bunch of videos.
