Finally convinced the husband we need another tank. I have a spare 10g lying around and will probably use that. It's going to be a fw densely planted tank with Lego figurines (LOVE the combination the few times I've seen it). Problem is I'm at a loss for what fish to put in it. I don't really care for tetras, or any other of the small colorful schooling fish, plus the 10g (perhaps I'll go as large as a 20g) is pretty limiting. Cories are a possibility but I'm not totally sold... I want something unique that won't outgrow a 10-20. Price isn't a problem. Any suggestions???

Big male bettas look great in little planted tanks. Peacock Gudgeons are also very colorful, with a tubular body shape and only grow to 2 1/2 to 3 inches, gudgeons in general are great for an oddball tiny tank

I had 3 dwarf puffers, about 5 oto cats and I'd buy red cherry shrimp to put in there. Dwarf puffers have a ton of personality and are my favorite fish I've ever had.

I'll also suggest dwarf puffers - a lot of personality in such a small package.

It is hard to go wrong with a group of dwarf puffers.

A pair of apistos would work well especially if you go with a 20 gallon long tank.

Dario dario would probably be ok with a small group in a ten.

Red clawed shrimp might a possibility - they are prawns so they look more like crayfish, but don't eat plants. They do hide a lot.

Hey thanks guys! I think I'll look into some dwarf puffers.

Red tailed cat and an arapaima gigas... What the Lfs said they were good in a 10g. Ok ok don't hurt me. I personally have female betas in mine. They are overlooked cause they are not as flashy as the males but if you look around you can find some very nice looking girls. Then again I like to hunt for my fish a little.
