I am moving to college here soon but would still like to have a small tank in my dorm. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to keep in such a small tank. It would have to be a fish that would easily take non-live food. I was thinking maybe a goby or firefish. Any suggestions/ imput would be excelent.

I think you're on the right track. They are some of the best fish for a nano set up. You could get away with around a 10G or so for a Catalina Goby(Lythrypnus dalli) or a Helfrichi Firefish (Nemateleotris helfrichi). Just make sure that thing is SEALED because that firefish will try to get out anyway possible.

You could even get some small PCs for a 10 or 15G and do a complete nano-reef...just keep up with your water changes. My friend has a 15G nano with LPS and SPS corals and he has no problems at all.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

if you gt one of those nano setups like bio cube or eclipse they work relly well and have everything included, except heaters.
yeah liveaquaria.com has some good nano fish. i like neon gobies.
best of luck.

p.s. check with your chool to see max. tank sizes and species acceptible. you can get in some big trouble for not doing this!
