I don't know much about filtration so I would just like some quick advice.

I have a 75 gallon with an Emperor 400 on it.

My fish are getting bigger, stock is getting heavier, I am feeding more (esp more messy food like worms), and my water seems to be getting cloudier quicker and needing more water changes.

So I think it is time for a second filter. What would you recommend? Another emp or something else? I have had great success with emps and penguins in the past (I have a bio wheel on my 55 at my parents that as lasted 9 years not without any issues) but I am open for suggestions.

Thanks!

ac110 for a HOB

i personaly dont like canisters (no real reason i just dont like them) so you may want to build a sump (i love diy sumps)

I also have a 75 gallon, I have had 2 emp. 400 on it and it works amazing and I have a lot of fish, including messy plecos.

My water stays crystal clear but I do a water change at a minimum of 2 times a week. When I say waterchange all I mean is that I vacum the sand reducing the the water by maybe 5 - 10 percent and then replenish it. So it sounds like a lot but only takes about 10 minutes to be completely done.

Thanks and let me know what you decide to do...

Thanks, JP

honestly an ac110 should do ya, i have an ac110 on a 55 with an 8" flowerhorn, and a 6" carpintis, with one ac110 and i never have ammonia or nitrites

You can get a fluval 404 on ebay for $85 with shipping, if you want a good deal. I have 2, they are great.
