About half a year ago I lost half of the fish in my 75 gallon tank, and I've since been wanting to find some new additions that will get along with my current survivors. I've always kept it to Central and South American cichlids, my pH levels are always a little above neutral, probably about 7.2 because of the alkalinity of my tap water. I currently have:
5" Bocourti
3" Golden Severum
4" female Topaz cichlid (Archocentrus Myrnae), probably 5yrs old
4" common pleco, may trade in for something more interesting
3" unknown pleco, haven't witnessed growth yet

None of these fish are aggressive, save for the Topaz who likes to keep her territory, fins are always intact and I like not having to deal with bullies. So, basically I want colorful, medium-large cichlids that are available at least somewhere. My local lfs gets many random cichlids in, and I may get their last Pearsei to replace one lost in the plague. They also currently have Synspilus, but I have a feeling they will end up much too large. If I ordered some online, I may go for V. Regani, Heterospilus, Robertstoni, or Bifasciatum. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Peaceful cichlid community? Festivum, Herotilapia Multispinosa, and Severums are a few that i've personally kept that are not too aggressive.

I've kept Rainbow cichlids before, and I love the Severums but what I'm really looking for is something new and different. Thanks for the suggestion, though. My fish could probably deal with something a little more aggressive, but no killers, haha.

I did enjoy the chocolate cichlid I had... it used to be a different color every time I came into the room. Always interesting. Maybe I'll just go back to what I'm familiar with :)
I should try to make a list of past fishes: Severums, chocolate, pearsei, rainbows, godmani (that little devil made a lot of trouble... and then randomly died), and gosh I can't remember any others. This list kind of makes me seem like a fish killer, but I had them over a period of at least nine years.

chuco microthalumpus probably not even close on the spelling but a beautiful fish none the less

For me personally I wouldn't add anymore cichlids but would add about half a dozen or so Clown loaches. But if you insist on adding more cichlids, I would pick Green Terror also. Any of the Geophagus would also good choices too, beautiful fishes wish great temperament.

Haha, I like blackbelt cichlids, but I'm a bit too attached to my Bocourti and her (his?) algae wafer hording ways :D Loaches are quite interesting, but I may save some room because I found out that jaguar catfish (oncinus) are available online. Green terrors seem pretty cool, though I was always a bit wary of the name! Has anyone ever kept electric blue jack dempseys? I read somewhere that they end up less aggressive (http://www.tropicalresources.net/phpBB2/fish_profiles_octofaciatus_blue.php ), but I don't know how reliable that is. Thanks for the advice!

(Fish I forgot in above list: Keyholes, Sajica, and Blue Acaras)
