I have a 120 gal square tank with the following:
1 x male Acei
1 x male Borleyi
1 x Juvi borleyi (not sure on sex yet, looking like a female)
1 x Venetus showing blue gill plates so I think its male
1 x male Milomo
1 x male Baenschi
1 x male Jacobfreibergi
1 x male Stuartgranti Flavescent
1 x Male Gold Peacock (Hybrid)
1 x Male Peacock fire fish (Hybrid)
1 x male Ahli
1 x Male yellow lab.
1 x Common Plecostomus for cleaning duties.
This weekend I added an Aulonacara Rubescens about the same size as all of the other fish. My tank is normally quite settled with the occasional chase like any malawi set up.
The Jacobfreibergi, Baenschi and Venestus seem to have it in for this new guy though. He does not seem to be getting injured from being chased but keeps hiding above the filter out of the way but gets harassed all the time when he swims out in the open.
he still eats like crazy so he is pretty healthy still. Should I just leave it for a while and see if he manages to find his place in the pecking order or is there something I can try?
Would re-arranging the decor help like it does with an Mbuna tank or is this pretty pointless with mainly peacocks / open water fish?
I can understand the Jacobfreibergi having an issue because they look very similar but the venestus confuses me
There are no females in the tank.
I feed three times a day, about 1/3 of a tea spoon per serving which they finish in about 10 seconds. Should I feed more or does that sound about right?
I have a large piece of driftwood forming a cave that the yellow lab has claimed and a few other smaller rocks forming caves which none of the other fish uses. Should I add more rocks?
Any ideas?
