hey i'm setting up a new tank with my 3 african cichlids and wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to any other fish that might cohabitate with them well.

overall though, i would like to start this thread for people to post thier feats and follies with mixing african cichlids with other species.

What are the dimensions of the tank and what kind of African cichlids are we talking about here?

which type of lake malawi cichlids? and exactly what size. IMO a 35 hex would only be suitable for small fry. There is no swimming room.

i understand that a larger tank is goin to be needed shortly, i'm simply working with what i have for now. the largest of the 3 is no more than 2 inches and the other 2 are roughly 1.5 inches. as to the type of lake malawi cichlids they are, i am not sure, i will have to have someone help me ID them once i can post pictures. they were a gift so the information i recieved was limited.

ps - a 70gal tank is in the works

i second that question
me to 100% right.....

i did a little research and my best guess is that the largest of the 3 is a lake malawi mbuna red zebra, the other 2 that are a little bit smaller are another mbuna (going to have to wait for the pic to get specific) and an acei.
