I was hoping for suggestions for drip trays for my 90 gallon sump that has 3 separate trays.

Most of my sumps have had just 1 tray where I put a coarse pad. This particular tray has 3 separate drip trays.

Any suggestions for the different levels?

Thanks for your input.

One of those plastic drawers. Milkcrates work also, you can also use pvc to hold up eggcrate or sheets of vinyl.

A little bit of a misinterpretation of my questions but thank you. My apologies for not being clear let me post a picture. I have three drip trays in my current sump and wanted suggestions on the most efficient material the place within those drip trays .

Any Bio-media of your preference such as Bio balls, Plastic pot scrubbers, Bio rings, BioMax , and Lava rock to name a few. If you don't use filter socks a floss pad for catching debris in the 1st tray.

I appreciate the replies. I have thought about buying poret foam in the past, but it's a bit pricey.

I have a bunch of pot scrubbies from the dollar store and was going to put them in the sump itself.

I was also wondering about those pads treated with nitrate and ammonia removal for a tray. Any thoughts?

I personally don't believe in the nitrate and ammonia removing aids but if you had problems with water from your tap then ok. I would just add more bio-filtration for surface area and do proper wc's to maintain parameters.

A lot of people use pillow stuffing for mech instead. It is much cheaper, but not really reusable. If you do that, you should use something else for bio filtration, like lava rock, which is cheaper than scrubbies.
