I'm trying to find a catfish for stirring up the sandbed in my 330g. I've had giraffe cats before and they are fantastic at that, but in my experience they always end up becoming pricks, chasing other fish, etc. Oxydoras niger comes to mind, but I don't want anything that big. So my thought was to find a smaller doradid cat perhaps... But not too small. Anything under 7-8" would probably be eaten by my big old widebar dat... Any suggestions or ideas?

Looking for something in the 8-14" size range, and need a fish that will sift through the sand.

Try a tiger shovelnose

Awesome fish + perfect size tank

Dont know that doradids are the best choice, my 18" niger and 10" irwini do nothing

You could put a bunch of banjo catfish in there, they will burrow in the sand. Your Dat would probably eat them, if he ever notices them or realizes that the banjo cat is not a leaf, which is pretty unlikely
