Hello everyone I'm new here so I don't know if I should be posting here or under the cichlid section. Well I currently have a 55g tank running with 2 arulius barbs, 2 odessa bars, and 2 pictus catfish. I would really like to add one to three american cichlids to the tank. I have previously owned an oscar for around 5 years as well as a breeding pair of convicts (in other tanks ofc). A few that I were looking into were green terrors, firemouths, convicts, and jack dempseys. I know all these four wont be able to live in a 55g for life so that's why I need your help. I am kinda leaning towards the gt, but after doing some research it seems like I couldn't add another cichlid in there cause of aggression problems. Some people were able to keep smaller fish like the ones above with no problems because the gt didn't find them threatening so it didn't bother them. Would having a jd, convict and fm be to crowded in the 55? Let me know what you guys think and if you guys have any suggestions.

If you like green terrors, maybe you could look into blue acaras? They stay a little smaller and have great colors.

I second looking at the blue acara. The jack might cause issues with the others. I would go with firemouth and a blue acara.
