Hi just purchase a new 75 for my bullhead catfish that needed an upgrade from a 20. He is about 5 inches long. Could I have 2 rope fish and a spotted gar or a needle nose gar with him. What other fish could I have in this tank if any? Any comments and suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

Im going to say no... just based on those fishes max size it will be very cramped imho...

Rope fish and catfish are both bottom dwellers so occupy the same space basically...

I’m no expert on catfish, but based on most catfishes opportunistic feeding habits, i’m guessing a fish that looks like a large worm may end up as a snack for your bullhead eventually???

Although as mentioned, im not that familiar with catfish so you’ll probably want to wait for someone elses advise first...

This is the best picture I could find of him. He has never touched the cichlid that lives with him but likes minnows and worms

Thanks for the help I posted a picture of him if that helps at all

Im guessing chiclids have been fine since they are more mid level / open water fish??? Ropes on the other hand like catfish, like caves and structures to hide in which is why i said there maybe problems...

Especially with the long slender body making them a possibly tempting meal for a larger catfish...
