Initially wanted to do a all male peacock/hap tank but i want to know my options on other ideas. What would you do with a 110? I prefer medium sized fish to large fish like an oscar.

110s are the same as 75s and 90s ecept taller. So you are limited on your stock list. I would do a cichlid community of 5-8 inch cichlids and some silver dollars.

BGK, red hook silver dollars, red devil, jack dempsey, pearl cichlids, discus
Not all together but once you figure out the bigger fish you want, then you can figure out tankmates a black ghost knife would do pretty good in a tank that size though

The dimensions of the tank would help. Every 110 i've had was 5' long. My stock in my last 110 was an oscar, gt, metae, firemouth, red bay snook and some type of sa pike. Gave me a pretty good variety of color body shape and personalities, although they would've needed bigger tank once fully mature.

I also have a 60"x18"x24" tank and am looking to restock it. You asked for ideas, so here is what I am currently thinking for mine:

1 x Mango Pleco (or blue eyed if I can find one cheap)
1 x Green Spotted Puffer (or similar sized puffer)
4-8 x African Cichlids (assorted)
1 x African Butterflyfish (maybe)
1 x Freshwater Moray Eel (see below)

Without hi-jacking your thread, I hope to get some feedback on this stock list. I have read that the "Freshwater Moray Eels" are not true freshwater for life, and that they do better with some salinity to the tank. That obviously has me concerned about the long term healh of the fish if choosing a middle ground between pure fresh and brackish. Worried I will just end up with an entire tank of uncomfortable fish if trying to keep all of the species in "survivable" conditions.

Don't want to go back to saltwater now, but really want a true eel (order Anguilliformes)
for this tank, do I have any alternatives?

Edit above: after more research, discovered that the Spotted Freshwater Moray (gymnothorax polyuranodon) can live in conditions similar to the requirements of the other fish on my proposed stock list. Now the uncertainties are:

1) Where to buy a true g. polyuranodon, and how to be sure?
2) How to minimize predation by the eel on the other tank mates? (see below)

If all of the fish in the tank are at least semi-aggressive (except the pleco, but it will get big), then what size should all of the other fish be before introducing the Moray? Should I be worried about general harrassment between any of the species? Interested to hear what concerns/strategies others would have for the stock list above.
