I'm looking for a freshwater invertebrate to breed as food for rays.
They will be in a species tank so if the larvae is parasitic to fish it won't matter. Specifications below:

1. Must be able to keep and breed in a 10 gallon tank.
2. Must be able to produce lots of food fairly quickly and reach breeding age fairly quickly.
3. Must grow pretty quick for a large ray.
4. Preferably something with easy care and maintenance requirements.
5. The breeding adults will not be food, so they must have interesting behaviors like burrowing, or special things they do when they lay eggs.

Thanks! And they will be allotted time to grow. My ray won't be eating all live food.

Marmorkrebs/ Procambarus fallax!
1. 10 gallon is enough
2. Produces food quickly
3. Grows quickly
4. You basically can't kill it
5. How interesting does a crayfish which produces young without males sound to you?! :D

That sounds neat! Ive never heard of them lol! What size are the rays?
