I have a 7 inch CK and a 5 1/2 inch Silver Aro. My CK ate a Odoe Pike practically the same size and killed a TSN. Any suggestions on tankmates aggressive enough to survive but not too aggressive to kill my CK. I was thinking Oscar or P Bass maybe Emperor Cichlid?
They are in a 240 gallon tank.
 
Got the Oscar and my CK pretty much shredded him overnight. Guess Ill just keep the Aro and the CK.
 
make sure your ck is well fed before you go to bed. i find my ck stopped nipping fins when he is well fed(1 -2 shrimp and 2-3 silverside a day). does your ck have a spot he can hide? you can also try adding some dither fish to spread the aggression. also if you re-arrange your decor that could help.
 
I lost an arrowana to a RCK before . . . the only fish I have had luck with were much larger oscars or jacks. Also had a tsn with one for a while but he would pick on him.
 
Yeah hes well fed and has a lot of caves to hide in. For some reason he is just aggressive. He even glass bangs now-LOL Have had CK before some were a bit aggressive but never to this extreme. Funny thing was when I bought him he shared a tank with another CK-go figure?
 
yea, try and provide something for him to hide in, thats weird, my CK never picked on anything and hes twice as big as anyone else in the tank i have him in, good luck
 
Guess itll be my Aro and CK only -BTW there are 2 clown loaches in the tank that he could easily eat-yet he leaves them alone-go figure.

Is it because they could be lodged in his mouth? Please explain.
