my silver arowana who is 10" long refuses to eat pellets. i have been starving him for 4 days now and he refuses to give up! Help!! can anyone tell me how i am supposed to train him??? we are both in pain:ROFL:
thanks

im not to sure about aros but ive seen one go for a week and a half with out eating. keep at it? and he will probibly give up. but im no expert.

they will give in eventually...i hope. :D
starved my silver and jardini for only 2 days in hope of getting them off crickets to shrimp bathed in kent stuff and the silver gave in after the 2 days but the jardini is more stubborn then ever.

how is it in terms of "fittness"? If it is in good condition, at that size, you don't need to fret for the next 2 weks...once you've started do not give up and do not panic....

Arows in good condition can go long time with out eating..after you have him awhile you may have fasting times. they do this sometimes for no reason....my guy fasted for 5 weeks.. he was fine.. yes i did worry too... but at 10 inches and healthy he will most likely give in soon.. but you can also try freeze dried krill ..frozen silversides and arow floating pellets.. as long as it is not live food you will want him to eat varied diet of different food.

don't worry
my silver was 9" and hold one week wihout eating, than he starts to eats pellets, foodsticks.
sometimes I give him one feeder, and some hours after he eats foodsticks again.

thank you all for the ideas,,, have had him for a month and started off with live feeds (I know I know, my mistake), will keep at it. hopefully I wont pass out :-( :WHOA:
