So I took my daughters to the LFS this morning to find some new inhabitants for my new 125g. They helped me pick 3 salvinis and 3 red tail blue botias . We introduced them in the 125g and everything was fine. I left on the 2 hour round trip to take my daughters back to their mom. When I got home, there was a mostly dried, red tailed blue botia lying on the floor in front of the tank. He must have gone out through the small opening where the inlet for the fx4 enters the tank. Tough reality of fish keeping.

I've got four of the Y. Modesta / Blue Botias in my 120 African Cichlid tank. They are tough customers, active day & night. They are also the best scavangers I've ever kept. They can squeeze into just about any crack or crevace in the tank. Don't give up on them, they color up as well as thicken up as they mature. Here is a pic of one of my favorites "Tank".20190407_201504.jpg

I had a similar experience Saturday morning. Turned the lights on by one of my tanks and there was one of my EBJDs laying on the floor. It was still moving so I plopped it back into the tank and it lived. I only have a small opening near my HOB filter.

Crazy how they manage to jump out of such small openings.
