Are there any plants that can live in water without co2, small amount of lighting & no substrate(bare bottom)? Names with pictures will be great.. thx.

any rhizome base plant will, but needs to be attached something. Anubias sp. such as A. Barteri, Anubias Bertera v "nana", ... v "coffeefolia". Mosses (look on aquabid, there's always a good selection such as christmas, flame, and java), Ferns (Java fern being the most popular), and any plant that can grow by floating (hygrophylia, anachris, etc).

Java fern and java moss for sure. Even I don't kill those.

I saw some lfs selling plants that hang onto a small piece of wood.. What are those called?
Anubias, Java frns and Java moss. Check those. Riccia fluitans are also stuck on rocks and woods with mesh or nets. Check those plants.

yup, what they all said. as for what they were selling attached one wood, who knows. it could have been any of these mentioned. without a pic, its impossible to name the plant

It doesn't look like any of the names mentioned.. Wait till I get them..
Btw, are these plants able to use fish waste as nutrients?

Potted plants will make my tank look weird.. lol
I still need to know if these plants are able to use fish waste as nutrients..

allplants use fish waste (once its broken down) as nutrients, but they are in no way a replacement for any of your maintenance routine.
