Sultan Plecos now Protected in the US?

Just talked to the guy who's ordering my fish for me, I was going to get a Sultan. He told me his supplyer can't get them anymore as of a month ago they went onto a protected species list. Anyone else hear about this?

I've heard that several months ago but I still see them come in here and there.
