Well over the winter all my coldwater fish died in my 150g pond. I'm going to completely drain it and clean everything. We need to recarpet the room with my 125g aquarium. Can I put all my fish in the pond for the summer and bring them all back in for winter? What do I need to do to keep them alive and healthy out there all summer? Can I use the canister filter that is in the tank outside if I cover it and keep it out of the weather? The pond has some water lilies and irises. It will be covered with mesh or netting so that nothing can get in or out. Only other thing I could do is put a cattle trough in the garage.

so a water trough for the winter in the house? sounds good can move all your filteration from the pond to the trough and leave the lilys in there to keep the pond clean over winter.
