I use it. I feed my flowerhorns other food to but I'm not afraid to make it their main source of food. I actually rotate between different pellets. I believe the main concern is the source of protein they use like soybean. I am pleased with results from GS and although I'm in the minority I would recommend. For the sake of disclosure, I have not seen fish feed GS for years to see long term affects. You mention wanting to see ingredients.

Regular

Expensive, that what it is:)

I feed my King Titanium Hikari Bio-Gold+

yeah it's expensive. My go to food is Hikari gold

i know alot of people that use it, not just for fh's but for central american cichlids in general, its really worth the money, fish really love it and it seems to bring out there colors

I would say out of experience that GS RED is where it's at. Never had bad results, however I usually mix it up with Hikari Bio-Gold+ get the bio gold if you can find it. I never had much luck with regular Hikari Gold, Bio-Gold+ is what you should get. Also I think i have had much better luck with GSR than with Chingmix. My fish didn't care for it and it didn't seem to do much. GSR red will definitely bring out the red.

A quick little rule for me when buying food is
Protein-build your fish, grow fat, grow head if it has the potential
Spirulina-Pearls baby pearls, also great for blues, greens, purples
Astaxanthin and Canthanaxin-REDS, REDS, REDS.

Any food with high amounts of these 3 things are going to be just fine for your FH but remember the key is variation in their diet. Mix pellets with treats like brine shrimp, krill, bloodworms, etc. And the #1 biggest factor to a healthy beautiful FH is your water. Change it regularly and keep it within the proper parameters. (Hard water, high PH, 78-86 degrees.)

agree with Bryn!! Varied diet is the best!!! and yes most of all ...keep the water clean! How's Seattle Bryn!!
