Sump and AC110 on a 125g?

The size of the sump does not matter as long as there is enough space for mechanical and biological filtration. I say he has enough filtration but you will only get the tank clean if the mechanical filtration in your wet dry is good enough considering it will be your main filtration(use 100 micron pads). If i were you, i would add another ac110 to get a turnover of 8.

but all that aside, if your sump is appropriately sized for your tank, yes, that filtration is definitely ok.
you may want to add a powerhead for better circulation. but let it run as is for a while to see if you need it.

It was edited. You mean backfill as in, when you stop the siphon and turn off the pump, the hose from the pump siphons water back? if so, the pump hose should have a small hole near the end to prevent this.
both the hose on the return and the overflow will continue to backfill some water. even with the hole in the return, the water has to get below that hole before the siphon stops.
the sumps a little on the small side, but as long as the operating water level in the sump isnt too high, it should work just fine.
