I'm considering getting?/building? a sump.
What I'm wondering is how difficult or expensive these are?. Keep in mind, I've never done something like this before.
Usually I stay away because it looks so complicated and I don't understand it. I usually thought, none of my fish are that big anyways.
I've never had a fish over 1' long.
I am thinking of getting a pair of fancy goldfish in the fall and while pondering a setup for them, I realized they could benefit from a sump. Goldfish can be "messy" and I was thinking about how I could keep their needed water changes down.
Then I got to thinking...well my syno cats could use one too even if they already have a regular filter.
Then I got to thinking if keeping an arowana ever becomes a possibility, it would help in such a setup.
So I guess I'm going to learn about them.
If anyone knows of any basic type sites that explain sumps that would nice too.
